Section 8 of Ordinance No. 3 of 1900 which does not appear

to be the appropriate Section under which to make a rule

relating to Pensions under the Ordinance.

In Section 29 the wording of

Section 27 of the Straits Settlements' Ordinance No. 19 of

1904 has been adopted, for the sake of uniformity, and a

X modification of Section 35 of Ordinance No. 3 of 1900 has

thereby been introduced.

I shall take an early opportunity

of inviting the Legislative Council to fix by Resolution

the rate of exchange for the purposes of the valuation

provided for in Section 18.
